Overview
Canvas by Instructure is CMC's primary Learning Management System (LMS), serving as the official platform for course delivery, assessment, and academic communication. All CMC courses are provisioned in Canvas each semester, and student access is automatically tied to enrollment records from the Student Information System.
Canvas contains FERPA-protected student data — including grades, assignment submissions, and enrollment records. Access is governed by CMC's data classification policy, and all users authenticate via CMC SSO. Canvas supports a variety of third-party educational technologies and productivity tool integrations (LTIs), such as Gradescope, Hypothes.is, Respondus LockDown Browser, and others as approved by ITS.
Getting Started
Go to canvas.cmc.edu
Navigate to canvas.cmc.edu in your browser. This is the official CMC Canvas instance.
Sign In with CMC SSO
Click "Log In" and enter your CMC credentials. You will be redirected to the CMC single sign-on portal automatically.
Access Your Dashboard
Your Canvas Dashboard shows all active course cards. Click any course to enter it and see Modules, Assignments, Grades, and Announcements.
