Pilot program — under review this release
Claude is running as an ITS pilot and is under review during Release 2026.12. Eligibility, provisioning, and chargeback are provisional for the duration of the pilot and may change when the review concludes. ITS provides Claude as a pilot opportunity for staff, faculty and operational use cases; please consult with your IT consultant to explore your use case to learn more. The data protections described below apply to pilot participants today.
Overview
Claude is Anthropic's large language model, offered through secure institutional channels to staff, faculty and operational users taking part in the ITS pilot. It is known for its advanced reasoning capabilities, strong coding assistance, and nuanced understanding of complex, ambiguous topics.
Pilot participants use the Claude Desktop app, provisioned by ITS under CMC's institutional (Teams) license. Consult with your IT consultant to explore your use case and learn more about joining the pilot.
How to Access Claude at CMC

Enterprise Data Protections

Institutional Agreement — No Personal Accounts
Claude at CMC is accessed exclusively through enterprise agreements. Personal Anthropic accounts do not carry these data protections.

No Data Training
Conversations through CMC's institutional channels are not used to train public Claude models. This is contractually enforced.

FERPA Compliance & Audit Trail
All Claude usage through institutional channels complies with FERPA and is logged for security and compliance purposes.
