Overview
Zoom Workplace is CMC's primary video conferencing and virtual collaboration platform, operating on an enterprise license that includes AI Companion, webinar hosting, and advanced meeting controls. All CMC community members sign in via CMC SSO with Duo MFA.
CMC's Zoom environment is configured with FERPA protections: unauthorized third-party AI note-takers (e.g., Otter.ai bots, Fireflies) are blocked from joining CMC Zoom meetings. The built-in Zoom AI Companion is the approved tool for meeting summaries and transcription — it runs within CMC's Zoom tenant and does not share data with external systems.
Getting Started
Sign In at zoom.us
Go to zoom.us and click Sign In. Select SSO and enter cmc as your company domain. This redirects to CMC's SSO portal.
Complete CMC SSO + Duo MFA
Enter your CMC credentials and approve the Duo push. MFA is required for all Zoom sign-ins.
Download the Zoom App
Download the Zoom desktop app for the best experience. The web browser client also works but has fewer features.
Enable AI Companion (Optional)
In the Zoom app, go to Settings > AI Companion and enable meeting summaries and action item detection. These run within CMC's secure Zoom tenant.
