Overview
Box AI integrates AI-powered search and analysis directly into your CMC Box experience. Instead of manually searching through dozens of files, you can ask plain-English questions and receive cited answers drawn from the documents you have access to.
Box AI only searches within folders you have permission to access — it cannot retrieve files outside your authorization, making it safe for departmental use with sensitive P3 documents.
How to Access Box AI
Log In to Box
Go to cmc.box.com and sign in with your CMC credentials. Box AI is available within your standard CMC Box account.
Navigate to a Folder or File
Open any folder or file you have access to. Box AI searches only within your permitted scope — unauthorized files are never accessible.
Click the AI Icon
Look for the AI icon in the toolbar or sidebar within Box. Click it to open the Box AI chat panel.
Ask Your Question
Type your question in plain English. Box AI returns answers with citations and links to the specific source documents used to generate the response.
Enterprise Data Protections

Folder-Scoped Access Only
Box AI is strictly limited to files within your authorized Box folders. It cannot access files, folders, or accounts outside your permissions — by design.

Your documents are never used to train public AI models. All Box AI processing operates under CMC's enterprise agreement with Box.

All Box AI processing is conducted under FERPA-compliant enterprise agreements, making it safe for use with student records and departmental data.
